The SXML-1A soil nuclear-free density meter main unit features a true-color display with both Chinese and English menus, making it easy to operate and learn. The dual-language menu facilitates simultaneous viewing of measurement results by both Chinese and foreign personnel during construction monitoring. The nuclear-free density moisture meter (EDG) is an alternative to nuclear density meters, used to measure the physical properties of compacted base and subgrade soils without the use of nuclear technology. It is a battery-powered portable device that can be used anywhere without concerns related to nuclear safety. The EDG measures and displays dry/wet density, moisture content, and compaction percentage. Its user-friendly operation makes it suitable as an auxiliary device for daily compaction monitoring in construction, with superior performance and accurate measurement results comparable to traditional methods such as nuclear density gauging, sand cone testing, and the oven-drying method. The EDG ensures precision through point-to-point radio frequency measurements. Direct measurements are taken between electrodes inserted into the soil, ensuring correct measurement by the soil covering the electrodes. There is no need to worry about soil uniformity or relying on radio frequency 'waves' penetrating the soil material from the surface when using the EDG. For operators, the EDG's simplicity and ease of learning make it an ideal training tool. Additionally, the EDG provides rapid measurements, large measurement intervals, and quick estimations. Measurement principle: The nuclear-free density moisture meter (EDG) measures the dielectric constant and density of compacted soil materials through high-frequency radio waves between electrodes, comparing the measured dielectric constant with a 'soil module.' The soil module is a specific standard for soil types, consisting of a set of pre-measured specific dielectric constants representing a range of density and moisture values. After field measurements, mathematical algorithms calculate dry/wet density, moisture content, and compaction percentage. An accompanying temperature sensor can also enhance measurement accuracy.
Purpose: Used for measuring the density and moisture content of compaction materials in the following categories: embankments and fill; tunnels, basements, and foundations; backfill and trenches; waste.
